The Kenya Ear Nose and Throat Society (KENTS) is a professional organization in Kenya representing otorhinolaryngologists(ENT) head & neck surgeons, ENT Clinical Officers, Audiologists and ENT nursing officers.
Ear, nose, throat and head & neck disorders and diseases are among the most common conditions, afflicting many people, young and old. They include congenital conditions and acquired conditions which may further be infectious or non-infectious. Head & neck cancers are also included.
These conditions are treated and managed by these specialists as per their level of specialisation. The Kenya Ear Nose & Throat Society was founded in 1988 with a membership of few members and over the years the membership has markedly increased.
The present society is a family of individuals, young and old, from different parts of Kenya, of different cadres who work in collaboration with each other to try and address ENT, Head & Neck related problems in the region, to the best of their capacity.
Through education (conferences, workshops, seminars & CME’s) & research, KENTS works to advance the art, science, and ethical practice of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. In addition,through collaboration with International associations and bodies, KENTS strives to bring knowledge of recent developments and advances in the management of ENT conditions to all its members to keep them at par with the rest of the world. Last but not least, italso plays an advisory role to the government on policy issues regarding ENT health.
